Renowned for its castles, the glorious Valley of the Loire, now classified a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is rich in history and delightful food and wine.

It is France's most diverse wine region, producing exemplary wines in every style. Important in terms of both quantity and quality, the region generates vast quantities (around 4 million hl each year) of everyday wines, as well as some of France's very finest. Once the stomping ground for the French kings, the region is home to many of France’s most famous castles and palaces.

The Chateau Chambord is one of France’s most recognizable castles known for its distinct French Renaissance architecture and for its facade, which was designed to look like the skyline of Constantinople. Visitors to Chambord will be astonished by its sheer size—it boasts 440 rooms, 365 fireplaces and 84 staircases.

The Chateau Chenonceau is often thought of as one of the most beautiful castles in the Loire. It is situated on the picturesque Cher River and surrounded by gardens on the adjacent terraces and river banks. It has an interesting history and once even served as a makeshift hospital for soldiers during WWII.
