IAS TB/HIV Research Prizes
ANNUAL PRIZES

The IAS TB/HIV Research Prize was first awarded in 2009 at the 5th IAS Conference on HIV Pathogenesis, Treatment and Prevention in Cape Town, South Africa, to generate interest and stimulate research on basic, clinical and operational issues in TB/HIV prevention, care and treatment.

The two US$1,000 IAS TB/HIV Research Prizes are incentives for young and established researchers to investigate pertinent research questions that affect TB/HIV co-infection and operational effectiveness of implementing core TB/HIV collaborative services. The prizes are presented to the two top-scoring abstracts in any of these areas.

Eligible candidates are presenting authors of abstracts submitted to IAS 2017, which meet the following criteria:

  • The Conference Advisory Committee has accepted the abstract as an oral presentation, for a poster discussion session or for the poster exhibition.
  • The research demonstrates innovation, originality, rationale and quality.
  • The title or abstract body contains at least one of the following keywords: “TB”, “tuberculosis”.
  • The research presented in the abstract is related to prevention, care or treatment of TB/HIV co-infection.

ABSTRACT SUBMITTERS DO NOT NEED TO APPLY FOR THE PRIZE.

All abstracts that meet the criteria will be automatically considered.
